Art Matters

Ayala Museum invites the public to become its partners in educating through art, with Art Matters, a fund-raising exhibition, on Thursday, 24 July 2008, at the ArtistSpace.

The exhibition will feature works by 19 Filipino artists: Nunelucio Alvarado, Marcel Antonio, Dennis Ascalon, Virgilio Aviado, Charlie Co, Allan Cosio, Fil Delacruz, Antipas Delotavo, Renato Habulan, Raymond Legaspi, Arturo Luz, Jordan Mangosan, Hadrian Mendoza, Ramon Orlina, Susan Fetalvero-Roces, John Frank Sabado, Pablo Baens Santos, Toto Tarrosa, and Edwin Wilwayco.

Part of the proceeds of the event will go to the Ayala Museum Art Fund for the implementation of its continuing education projects and outreach programs. These programs include free tours for students of public schools and members of marginalized communities, in line with the Museum’s goal of instilling national pride in our people through the arts.

The exhibition, which will run until 7 August 2008, is envisioned to become an annual undertaking at the Ayala Museum.

Established in 2004, ArtistSpace is a commercial-run gallery owned by Ayala Museum, dedicated to promote Philippine contemporary art and talent. It is located at the 2/F Glass Wing of the Ayala Museum, and is accessible via the 2/F pedestrian walkway.

Admission to the ArtistSpace is free.
