2010 has been a good year for Hanna Pettyjohn because she has finally finished the project she started some years ago. The project was a personal mission to search for the missing or unclear pieces of her family's history, and to come to terms with them. It was a mission that took her to Texas last 2006 to get to know the American grandfather she only heard about, and that led her to uncover the story of her grandparents' time together. OPENING RECEPTION: THE EASTER BUNNY - JUST AS CHARMING AND JUST AS FAKE BY NIKKI LUNA, 20SQUARE, NOV 24, WED, 6-9PM
Nikki Luna is poetic in her latest work at 20SQUARE called The Easter Bunny - just as charming, and just as fake.

She puts a white wall of crushed eggshells at the entrance, which opens up into a room filled with trays and trays of resin eggs on the floor. The installation creates tension immediately with its non-invitation to come in, walk around and inspect. Instead, Luna's work overwhelms its audience with feelings of fragility and vulnerability. The mood is strong because her message is strong...
